Medicine Information

Product information:

Triglyris-Fort Tablet contains Methimazole, an oral antithyroid medicine used to help control excessive production of thyroid hormones.

It works by inhibiting the synthesis of thyroid hormones and is used in the management of hyperthyroidism, including conditions such as Graves’ disease and toxic multinodular goiter, as directed by a healthcare professional.

Key Benefits:

  • Inhibits thyroid peroxidase enzyme which blocks iodination of tyrosine and reduces T3/T4 synthesis.
  • Provides symptomatic relief in Graves’ disease and thyroid storm.
  • Controls palpitations, tremors, weight loss, heat intolerance, and irritability.
  • Used before thyroid surgery or radioiodine therapy to stabilize thyroid hormone levels.
  • Long‑term therapy lowers recurrence of hyperthyroid episodes.
  • Widely prescribed for safe and effective management of hyperthyroidism.

Directions for use:

Take Triglyris-Fort exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet with water. Take the medicine at the same time each day, as directed.

The dosage and frequency are individualized according to the severity of hyperthyroidism and response to treatment. Regular thyroid-function monitoring may be required during treatment.

Storage and Safety Information:

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver disease or any previous blood-related disorder.
  • Methimazole can rarely cause serious blood disorders. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop fever, sore throat, unusual weakness or signs of infection.
  • Contact your doctor promptly if you develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, abdominal discomfort or other symptoms suggestive of liver problems.
  • Methimazole can cause fetal harm when used during the first trimester of pregnancy; inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or become pregnant during treatment.
  • For use under medical supervision.
