Medicine Information

Product information:

Roxedo-O Tablet is a combination of Cefpodoxime 200 mg and Ofloxacin 200 mg, two antibacterial agents with complementary mechanisms of action.

It is used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections when combination therapy is considered appropriate by the treating physician.

Key Benefits:

  • Cefpodoxime (cell wall synthesis inhibitor) and Ofloxacin (DNA gyrase inhibitor) provide enhanced bactericidal activity.
  • Effective against Gram‑positive, Gram‑negative, and resistant pathogens.
  • Trusted therapy for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and skin/soft tissue infections.
  • Quick improvement in fever, cough, sore throat, and infection‑related discomfort.
  • Combination therapy reduces risk of bacterial resistance compared to monotherapy.
  • Tablet form ensures ease of administration and better patient compliance.
  • Widely prescribed for community‑acquired infections requiring dual coverage.

Directions for use:

Take Roxedo-O Tablet only as prescribed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Cefpodoxime is generally better absorbed when taken with food.

Avoid taking the tablet together with antacids or products containing iron, calcium, magnesium or aluminium; follow your physician's instructions regarding appropriate spacing. Complete the full prescribed course, even if you feel better.

Storage and Safety Information:

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children.
  • Inform your doctor about any history of allergy to penicillins, cephalosporins, quinolones or other antibiotics.
  • Ofloxacin may rarely cause serious tendon problems, nerve-related symptoms or central nervous system effects. Report tendon pain/swelling, numbness, tingling or unusual neurological symptoms promptly.
  • Avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight during treatment, as ofloxacin may increase photosensitivity.
  • Common adverse effects may include nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, dizziness or headache.
  • Seek medical attention for severe or persistent diarrhoea, particularly if accompanied by blood or abdominal cramps.
  • Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
