Oftra-CF Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime 200 mg and Ofloxacin 200 mg. It is used for the treatment of selected bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, when combination therapy is considered appropriate by a qualified healthcare professional.

Cefixime works by interfering with bacterial cell-wall formation, while Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication.

Directions for use:

Take Oftra-CF Tablet exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional. Swallow the tablet whole with sufficient water; do not crush or chew unless advised. It may be taken with or without food. Take the medicine at the recommended dose and intervals and complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.

Avoid self-medication or changing the dose without medical advice. Avoid taking antacids or mineral supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, calcium, iron or zinc close to the dose of Ofloxacin, as they may reduce its absorption.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
Keep the medicine in its original packaging and out of reach of children.
Use only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Do not use antibiotics for viral infections such as the common cold or influenza.
Inform your doctor about any previous allergy to Cefixime, cephalosporins, penicillins, Ofloxacin, or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
Ofloxacin may rarely cause tendon inflammation or tendon rupture, nerve-related symptoms, or effects on the central nervous system. Contact your doctor if you develop tendon pain/swelling, numbness, tingling, severe dizziness, confusion, or unusual neurological symptoms.
Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or UV radiation during treatment if advised by your healthcare professional, as Ofloxacin may increase photosensitivity.
Seek immediate medical attention for severe allergic reactions, breathing difficulty, severe skin reactions, persistent severe diarrhoea, or significant tendon pain/swelling.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only when specifically advised by a qualified healthcare professional.
