Medicine Information

Product information:

Linzorab Dry Syrup contains Linezolid, an oxazolidinone-class antibacterial agent used for the treatment of certain serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria.

It may be used in conditions such as certain pneumonia, complicated skin and skin-structure infections, and infections caused by vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium, as determined by the treating physician. Linezolid is not indicated for the treatment of Gram-negative infections.

Key Benefits:

  • Effective against a wide range of Gram‑positive bacteria, including resistant pathogens such as MRSA and VRE.
  • Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by preventing formation of the 70S initiation complex, helping control difficult-to-treat infections.
  • Provides reliable treatment where conventional antibiotics may be less effective.
  • Helps achieve quicker resolution of fever, infection‑related discomfort, and clinical symptoms.
  • Dry syrup form ensures accurate dosing and easy administration in children.
  • Commonly used in bacterial pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, and other serious Gram‑positive infections.
  • Recognized for its efficacy against multidrug‑resistant Gram‑positive organisms.

Directions for use:

Use strictly according to the prescription and instructions of the physician. Reconstitute the dry syrup exactly according to the instructions provided with the product.

After reconstitution, gently invert the bottle 3–5 times before each dose rather than vigorously shaking, unless the approved product instructions specify otherwise. Linezolid may generally be taken with or without food.

Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve, unless the physician advises otherwise.

Storage and Safety Information:

  • Store the dry powder according to the temperature and storage conditions specified on the approved product label.
  • Protect from light and moisture and keep the bottle tightly closed.
  • After reconstitution, store the suspension as specified in the approved product information. Standard linezolid oral suspension labeling specifies room-temperature storage and use within 21 days after constitution; follow the approved Linzorab label if its instructions differ.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children.
  • Linezolid should not be used with MAO inhibitors or within 2 weeks of stopping an MAO inhibitor.
  • Prolonged treatment may be associated with myelosuppression; appropriate blood-count monitoring may be required during treatment.
  • Prolonged use, particularly beyond 28 days, has been associated with peripheral and optic neuropathy. Report any visual changes promptly to the physician.
  • For use under medical supervision.
