Medicine Information

Product information:

Abvog-0.2 Tablet is a combination of Voglibose, Glimepiride and Metformin Hydrochloride formulated for the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

The combination works through complementary mechanisms to support blood glucose control by improving insulin-mediated glucose utilisation, reducing hepatic glucose production and delaying carbohydrate absorption from the intestine.

Key Benefits:

  • Combines three complementary mechanisms providing better glycemic control in type 2 diabetes.
  • Voglibose delays intestinal carbohydrate absorption, reducing postprandial hyperglycemia.
  • Glimepiride stimulates pancreatic β‑cells which enhances insulin release.
  • Metformin reduces hepatic glucose output and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.
  • Controls fasting, postprandial, and overall blood glucose levels.
  • Better glycemic control lowers risk of neuropathy, nephropathy, and retinopathy.
  • Convenient once‑daily therapy for improved patient compliance.

Directions for use:

Take Abvog-0.2 Tablet only as prescribed by the physician. Take the tablet with or immediately before/with a meal, according to the prescribed regimen. Take it regularly at the same time each day for consistent blood glucose control.

Do not skip meals while taking this medicine, as glimepiride may cause low blood sugar. Maintain the recommended diet, exercise programme and regular blood glucose monitoring as advised by your healthcare professional.

Storage and Safety Information:

  • Use only under medical supervision. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Hypoglycaemia may occur, particularly if meals are skipped, caloric intake is inadequate, or the medicine is combined with other glucose-lowering therapies.
  • Gastrointestinal effects such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, bloating or flatulence may occur, particularly due to metformin and voglibose.
  • Patients with kidney or liver impairment require appropriate medical assessment and dose consideration.
  • Inform the physician about all other medicines being taken, particularly other antidiabetic medicines.
  • Metformin-containing therapy requires attention to renal function because of the risk of metformin-associated lactic acidosis in susceptible patients.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with the treating physician before use.
