Medicine Information

Product information:

Abbiclav Tablet is a combination of Amoxicillin and Potassium Clavulanate, an antibiotic formulation used for the treatment of certain susceptible bacterial infections. It may be prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and other bacterial infections, as determined by a healthcare professional.

Amoxicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell-wall formation, while Clavulanate helps protect Amoxicillin from degradation by certain bacterial enzymes, thereby extending its antibacterial activity.

Key Benefits:

  • Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis which is effective against Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative organisms.
  • Clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from enzymatic degradation that extends coverage to resistant strains.
  • Combination ensures sustained efficacy against β‑lactamase‑producing bacteria.
  • Provides faster resolution of fever, pain, and infection‑related symptoms.
  • Trusted therapy for sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis, and tonsillitis.
  • Useful in cellulitis, wound infections, and UTIs.
  • Proven efficacy in community‑acquired infections with good tolerability.
  • Widely prescribed for resistant bacterial infections.

Directions for use:

Take Abbiclav Tablet exactly as prescribed by your physician. Take the tablet at the start of a meal to improve absorption and reduce the possibility of stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with sufficient water; do not crush or chew unless advised otherwise.
